Tokyo International Forum will be the stage for another edition of the Jitac fair. National companies want to consolidate their presence in the Japanese market and continue to conquer the Japanese with their diverse and high-quality collections.

Troficolor, which will present its Spring-Summer 2017 collection, hopes to take another step in the consolidation of the company in the Japanese market. According to Cláudio Silva, this collection for the hot seasons presents two more families, designed for two specific types of customers: a denim line “thinking of customers who enjoy the spirit denim but do not have access to laundry rooms, allowing clothing to be manufactured without having to wash it” and the other is a fitness line “thinking of articles in which comfort is the keyword”.

Têxtil Serzedelo/Texser will again be present at the event, where it will exhibit its “options directed at cooler weather and a more casual look, for example the Seersucker”. José António, export customer manager of the company, states that the Japanese market is “in crescendo in our company and it is one we have been working on for 2 years”, therefore consolidation in this demanding market is the aim of the company.

For this Jitac fair, Tintex highlights the “field of technology for mercerization of stretch textiles, coating technology, as well as suggestions of thermo-formed textiles by high frequency and/or perforated”. The “functional knits for the sport, athleisure & activewear segments of Winter 17/18” will also be present, as well as eco-friendly and organic characteristics. Elsa Parente, sales manager of Tintex, considers “Japan a strategic market for the company since it is interested in differentiated products and those with added value, due to the sophisticated qualities for a level of customers less sensitive to the price factor”, so she hopes this edition of the event will be “frankly positive” for the company.

Riopele – Têxteis S.A. and Somelos Tecidos will also integrate the Portuguese committee that will travel to Tokyo in Abril to take part in the fair.

The participation of the five portuguese companies in one more Jitac edition is an initiative promoted by the Selectiva Moda Association, co-financed by the EU Structural and Investment Funds as part of the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (POCI), Portugal 2020 and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project is made up of approximately 81 international activities which take place in the second half of 2015 and in 2016, covering the entire textile and fashion industry and spread over four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
