PORTUGUESE BRANDS HEAD FOR LAS VEGAS

From 15 to 18 February, the major players in the international fashion industry are heading to Las Vegas to attend another edition of Magic Market Week. Spread between the Mrket, Project, Stitch and Liberty trade shows, six Portuguese companies are travelling to the busy gambling capital of world, as part of an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda, within the From Portugal internationalisation project.

Boom Bap Wear (Liberty) - Daily Day (Stitch) - Fiorima (Mrket) - French Kick (Project) - Inimigo Clothing (Project) - Maloka (Stitch) - are the six made in Portugal companies that will be attending the Magic Market Week, spread between four events. 

At the Liberty exhibition, Boom Bap Wear is returning to Las Vegas. Under the tagline “Make Moves”, it brings to the street looks that suit open-minded personalities. The collection certainly breaks with the routine! 

A debutante in the North American market, Daily Day, marks its presence at Stitch. It is presenting its Autumn/Winter collection, inspired by the life of the city, its people and places. «We hope to publicise the brand at international level, and win new markets, as well as gaining new clients and agents/distributors», said Filipe Prata, director general of the brand. 

The sock specialist Fiorima marks its presence at Mrket. “Socks for adventurous people" is the tagline for the products of the brand, which uses seamless technology in all its socks. 

New exhibitor French Kick is presenting its Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, featuring tennis shoes, knitted sweatshirts and new styles of jackets. «We already have some experience in North America. The trade fair Project is, for our brand, the best in the United states. What's more, our partner brand, Inimigo Clothing, has exhibited there before, with great success», explained Filipa Ferreira. «We want to get into the US market and grasp new opportunities», she added.

Inimigo Clothing, a regular at Project, has answered the call and is presenting its collection in Las Vegas. T-Shirts, Polos, Jeans, Sneakers and Knitwear are all featured in this new collection. «Through our participation in this event, we hope to consolidate the brand's position in the American market. We are forecasting a growth of around 30% in the American market», said Simão Soares, the company's sales manager. 

Also at Stitch, debutante Maloka presents its main trends for the next cold season. A collection that is wrapped in an intrigue of passion, bringing a feminine silhouette and offering a vast range of styles, materials, and patterns dominated by strong, timeless tones.Regarded as one of the most prestigious international events, Magic Market Week has two annual editions, in February and August, gathering in Las Vegas the major players in the international fashion industry.

One more Portuguese company will also exhibit at this fair: Dielmar.

The participation of the six Portuguese companies in one more Magic Market Week edition is an initiative promoted by the Selectiva Moda Association, co-financed by the EU Structural and Investment Funds as part of the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (POCI), Portugal 2020 and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project is made up of approximately 81 international activities which take place in the second half of 2015 and in 2016, covering the entire textile and fashion industry and spread over four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
