WORLD OF CHILDREN'S CLOTHING GATHER IN LONDON

In its first edition of the year, Bubble London, which will take place from 31 January to 1 February, will include the participation of five Portuguese brands - Chua - DOT - Dr. Kid - Knot - Vandoma - which are setting off for London with the support of Associação Selectiva Moda, under the internationalization project "From Portugal".

The proposals for children's fashion for the autumn/winter 16 will be on show at the Business Design Center for two days, and will include the latest items "made in Portugal" of five Portuguese brands - Chua - Dot - Dr. Kid - Knot - Vandoma - that promise to delight the British market with the quality and design inherent to Portuguese products.

The highlights to be exhibited by DOT in London include garments with carefully selected fabrics to match, for all the family. Our participation in this event has been very positive, and our goal is to continue this growth. «We already have 18 clients, and we want to win even more!», says Mariana Castro Fernandes, the company's head.

A regular presence at this event, Dr. Kid will be taking its Autumn/Winter 2016 collection to London. The collection comprises three lines: Newborn, Baby and Kids, which complement one another in a spirit of "total look". The highlight is the knitwear, which features fun and modern designs that contrast with more traditional motifs. The Tartan fabrics are given a new twist, with new colours and designs. The various different polka dot designs feature some of the more sophisticated themes while floral patterns give the collection a feminine charm. The colour palette is dominated by pastels, which are reinvented and combined with more traditional colours like bordeaux, bottle green, and a new range of navy blues. «Through our participation in Bubble London, we hope to create and strengthen relations with the market and create new business opportunities. As a regular brand at this event, we hope to once again surprise visitors and continue to charm all those who are already familiar with the brand», explains Liliana Ferraz of the company's marketing and communication department.

Knot will present clothing for children aged 0 to 10, in three lines: newborn (0 - 12 months), babies (6 – 24 months) and children (3 – 10 years). Tomorrow's World is the motto for this collection, the highlights of which include items in soft cotton, wool and cashmere blend, poplin, and Viyella. «Following our strategy of growth and expansion, the brand invested in the British market at the beginning of 2015, and this has really paid off. In August, we took part in Bubble London for the first time, and we feel that the brand was well-accepted right from the beginning. There is a good fit between KNOT and the British market, therefore we believe in the market and that's why our presence is essential to consolidate our position», explains Sara Lemos, international sales manager of the company.

Vandoma, a regular exhibitor at the event, will present its top trends in ties and bows for children and babies. «Our presence at this trade fair has enabled us to increase sales of our articles to the United Kingdom. We have high expectations», says Ana Sousa, head of the company.

Bubble London has two annual trade fairs, in January and June, and gathers more than 300 international brands. At each event, the "Bubble Rising Star" contest is held, offering an award for new participating brands, based on criteria of innovation, quality, originality and marketing.

The participation of the five Portuguese companies in one more Bubble London edition is an initiative promoted by the Selectiva Moda Association, co-financed by the EU Structural and Investment Funds as part of the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (POCI), Portugal 2020 and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project is made up of approximately 81 international activities which take place in the second half of 2015 and in 2016, covering the entire textile and fashion industry and spread over four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
