From beachwear to wool garments, the Portuguese range is characterised by diversity, elegance and the superior quality of its finishes, positioning From Portugal as a top brand at the forefront of fashion.

The prestigious Italian event opens its doors from 8 to 10 September, and this year will receive 5 representatives of the Portuguese textile industry – Albano Morgado – Familitex – J.A.Lima Malhas – Lemar – SanMartin – a delegation led by the Associação Selectiva Moda, under the auspices of the From Portugal internationalisation project.

Specialist in woollen fabrics, Albano Morgado will once again be visiting Milan. Articles in 100% wool, ranging from the traditional “Shetland” to the soft “lambswool”, will be highlights of the show.

Familitex is participating for the first time in this event, with particular focus on circular-knit garments.

Making its debut at this event, J.A.Lima Malhas presents a collection where jackards and structured knitwear will be highlighted, as well as superior quality finishes. “The Italian market is always attractive, and in addition to enabling us to make our collections known, which in my opinion, are at the same level, it is also good to find out what is being done across Europe, particularly in Italy. It is very important to have an idea of fashion trends for the coming seasons”, explains Luís Lima. “By participating in this event, we intend to find out about new markets, continue our process of internationalisation and increase our market share/turnover in European countries”, he adds.

Haute couture, bridal, casual chic and sport chic ranges are the highlights of the Portuguese company Sanmartin for this year’s Milano Unica. Lace embroidered with jewels, embroidered tulle and guipure are some of the materials that enliven the bridal collection. “Nude” sets the mood for the haute couture collection, as well as the autumnal tones. “This will be our 4th time at this event and we are greatly looking forward to it starting, as many of our current and potential customers have shown great interest in visiting us in Milan. We hope to receive positive feedback from our customers regarding our new winter collection. Milano Unica offers a good opportunity to acquire new customers, thereby strengthening the presence of Sanmartin as a major player in the fashion and international high fashion sectors”, says Alexandre Leitão, from the company’s marketing department.

From 8 to 10 September the 21st Milano Unica will take place, which last time out received around 350 exhibitors and around 21,000 visitors

The participation of 5 Portuguese companies in another Milano Unica show is an initiative promoted by the Associação Selectiva Moda co-financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) under the POCI (Operational Competitiveness and Internationalisation Programme), Portugal 2020 and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project consists of around 81 international initiatives that take place in the 2nd half of 2015 and 2016 covering the entire textile and fashion industry, spread across four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
