BERLIN HOSTS PORTUGUESE BRANDS

From 4 to 6 July, Bread&Butter Berlin will once again put the German capital at the centre of the fashion universe. Over 600 exhibitors will attend the trade show, with Portugal represented by brands Boom Bap and Lightning Bolt, supported by the Selectiva Moda Association as part of the "From Portugal" internationalisation project.

For three days, Tempelhof airport will be the stage for one of the most iconic trend shows, bringing together the largest number of fashion brands to present the main novelties for the coming summer.

Portugal will send a delegation comprising two of the country's companies – Boom Bap and Lightning Bolt – as part of the Selectiva Moda Association's "From Portugal" internationalisation project, financed by EU funds from the National Strategic Reference Framework.
A regular at the show, Boom Bap will take to Berlin its Summer 2013 collection, entitled “The Forever Young Collection”. The collection's look takes inspiration from the brand's spirit, with references to fashion icons, music and street culture.
Cotton and a cotton-viscose blend are the main materials used, with some items coloured using the tie and die method.
The collection features light colours such as orange, pink, beige, grey and black, in addition to a range of fluorescent shades from the '80s.
A brand firmly rooted in surf culture, Lightning Bolt, attending the show for the first time, will present a collection inspired on the Aloha spirit, intimately connected to the brand and its roots.
The strength of each item stems from the functionality of the textiles used, the comfort of the colours and attention to detail.

The participation of the Portuguese companies in Bread&Butter Berlin is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of communitary fundings (QREN), inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2012, with a program of 68 international actions in 25 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles with an investment of 8,85 million euro.
