PORTUGUESE FASHION MAKES AN APPEARANCE IN PARIS

Who's Next Prêt-a-Porter will be held from 30 June to 3 July at Porte de Versailles in Paris. The trade show comprises six fashion areas: FAME – PRIVATE – MISTER BROWN – PREMIERE CLASSE – LE CUBE – MESS AROUND. Eight Portuguese companies will attend Who's Next Prêt-a-Porter – Boom Bap, Givec, Ghibi, Luís Buchinho, MDS, Meamstyle, Susana Bettencourt and Tiffosi – in the various venues which make up the show.

A Portuguese delegation of eight companies - Boom Bap, Givec, Ghibi, Luís Buchinho, MDS, Meamstyle, Susana Bettencourt and Tiffosi - will be attending the second yearly edition of Who's Next Prêt-a-Porter, with the support of the Selectiva Moda Association, as part of the internationalisation project financed by the National Strategic Reference Framework.

In the Mr. Brown hall we can expect to see Boom Bap, Mad Dragon Seeker and Tiffosi.
Boom Bap is taking its summer 2013 collection to Paris, with the tagline “The Forever Young Collection”. The collection is a graphical representation of the brand's spirit, blending self-deprecation, references to fashion icons, music and street culture. It sports light colours such as orange, pink, beige, grey and black, with a range of fluorescent shades from the '80s.
«From Istanbul to Saigon» is the theme of the collection presented by MDS – Mad Dragon Seeker for the coming summer, boasting rich colours and textures steadfastly faithful to the brand's values: quality, comfort and identity.
Tiffosi will present a collection characterised by a wide range of forms, combining a variety of textures and bright, daring colours to reflect an adventurous and passionate lifestyle. Of particular note are its innovative jeans, flaunting strong colours and markings which impart a youthful and modern character.

The Private hall will showcase products from the companies Givec - with the brands Kalisson and Bagoraz - and Meamstyle - with Meam by Ricardo Preto.
Givec will be taking its brands Kalisson and Bagoraz to Paris. The company will present a collection characterised above all by a fusion of influences, placing strong emphasis on colour with a return to '60s chic transformed by a contemporary perspective. Vintage influences give the collection a touch of glamour and delicateness.
Meamstyle's feminine collection, with the brand Meam by Ricardo Preto, is inspired on freedom – I am a bird now – featuring acid colours alongside pastels, with a predominance of linen, cotton and silk.

In the Hall Fame, visitors will find collections by Luís Buchinho and Susana Bettencourt, both of whom are attending the event for the first time.
Luís Buchinho's collection recreates architectural lines in an ultra-feminine, elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. Of particular note are his cocktail dresses, with anatomical cuts and a palette of warm, bright colours. Stretch cotton, polyester and silk chiffon are given particular prominence.
Young designer Susana Bettencourt will present a collection defined by the concept of “Collective Memory”. The feminine knitwear collection explores this concept taking inspiration from Islamic architectural motifs –Muqarnas.
The Le Cube and Messe Around hall will host Ghibi. Ghibi is a regular at the show, and its collection for Spring/Summer 2013 is called “Mambo on Stripes”, inspired by the rhythms of mambo and brimming with glamour.

The participation of the Portuguese companies in Who's Next Prêt-a-Porter is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of communitary fundings (QREN), inserted in the project From Portugal.
