TECHNICAL TEXTILES OPERATION IN ATLANTA

Artefita, Cordex and Faria da Costa will be a part of the Portuguese delegation attending the next edition of Techtextil North America, taking place in Atlanta from the 24th to the 26th of April. With the support of Selectiva Moda association, these Portuguese companies will be traveling to the United States to show their latest developments, Innovation being the key word.

A Portuguese delegation, composed of three companies - Artefita, Cordex and Faria da Costa – will attend the biggest international American fair of technical textiles and nonwovens. These companies are part of the From Portugal internationalization project, carried out by Selectiva Moda Association and supported by the QREN EU Funds.This sector is constantly innovating itself, so these Portuguese companies have been investing in research  and development of new products in order to stay in the front line and consolidate their position in the international markets. 

A new presence in this market, Artefita will be bringing to the USA its webbings portfolio. These webbings are present at the most diverse areas, namely: freight transportation accessories, medical care, nautical, logistics and extreme sports. Cordex will bring to the fair some innovative products such as yarns, fibers and ropes made of high tenacity polypropylene multifilament, ideal to be used in the safety, construction, nautical and agricultural industries. They will also present their polypropylene raffia that can be used in geotextiles and Cordsteel, to reinforce cement. Faria da Costa company, will exhibit their socks made with special fibers and using cutting-edge technology that makes them perfect for protection against adverse weather conditions. 

This is the 9th edition of the only show held in the USA dedicated to technical textiles and nonwovens and it will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta, from the 24th to the 26th of April. Companies from all over the world will exhibit their most recent developments in this area. The highlight also goes to the Techtextil North America Symposium 2012 that holds lectures about new technologies, sustainability, medical textiles among others.

The participation of the Portuguese companies in Techtextil Atlanta is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of communitary fundings (QREN), inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2012, with a program of 68 international actions in 25 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles with an investment of 8,85 million euro.
