STRONG NATIONAL DELEGATION STANDS OUT IN TECHTEXTIL AND TEXPROCESS

Portugal has, once again, a strong presence in TECHTEXTIL and TEXPROCESS. The fairs are usually held every two years but, due to the setbacks imposed by the pandemic, it hasn’t been held since 2019. Therefore, it is a long-awaited return by the Portuguese delegation present in TECHTEXTIL, represented in three islands FROM PORTUGAL and an individual stand. 

Taking part for the first time in the Frankfurt technical fair, Trivialtex expects “a definite energetic market rebound so as to finally enable working without upsets and fears that at any moment something may retract again”, reveals Fátima Carvalho. Aiming to find both regular and new clients from Central Europe Trivialtex will present “standard and recycled threads, biodegradable and mouliné” in Frankfurt, she says.

Already amounting to three participations, Foot by Foot returns to TECHTEXTIL for considering it “the main international technical textile trade fair for the different segments and a central stage both to suppliers and buyers”, as stated by Silvia Gomes, from the finance and accounting department, who also reveals the reinforcement of recycled and organic products to be presented in Munich. “The countries whose markets we want to bet on, besides Portugal, are: Germany, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Croatia, France and Slovenia,” adds Silvia Gomes. 

Bloomati, with an evident position in technical textiles, is one of the first-timers at the current TECHTEXTIL edition. Alice Sampaio, from the Marketing Department, explains that “it makes all the sense to take part in a trade fair such as this one”. Regarding the products to be presented in Munich Alica Sampaio points out “the knitwear which has won the ISPO Textrends awards, this semester’s star products, to be highlighted in the trade fairs to be held until the Summer.  Besides that, as it is a technical trade fair, the focus will always be turned to our special finishings such as antibacterial,  temperature regulator, water repellent, among others”, she summarizes. 

Taking part in TECHTEXTIL since 2011 it is with trust that A. Sampaio & Filhos returns to the trade fair to highlight the brand Protection+ by A. Sampaio. As Inês Palmeira describes, the brand “reflects our technical and innovative ability applied in particular to the areas of protective and professional clothing. We have users in the military areas, safety and firefighter corporations as well as in jobs related to electricity, gas, refineries…”, continues the collaborator in the marketing and communication area of the company, which will also present an ESD range, red ISO20471 knits and new anti-cut knits. 

The company Carlos Sousa, which also started its participations in TECHTEXTIL in 2011, has as main wish to “come back to normality because we feel, in this troubled period, lack of presential contact with clients”, says Hugo Resende. 

“We aspire for our products to be recognised for the quality they display and, above all, for the client satisfaction with the services we provide” adds the company collaborator that has a particular interest in increasing the customer share in the Scandinavian market. 

With great news in hands, it is with optimism that ADI group will take part for the first time in the Frankfurt trade fair, explains Rita Lima, product manager, “to present a new technical fibre produced in Portugal which will have impact in the technical sector. We have also established a very close partnership with Rodome, in the Portuguese market, and we are very confident about the launch of this product, which will happen shortly. 

Positioning but also new business perspectives are on the base of what is the second participation in Inovafil, in TECHTEXTIL, from where they get “very positive feedback in the sense in which even in a first participation we had some contacts from very interested clients“, says Filipe Gonçalves. 

With several scheduled meetings and the intent to increase the number of European clients, Inovafil will present a range of technical products with functional nature. 

The company from S. Roque will be present, with great relevance, in TEXPROCESS ,another trade fair to be held around the same dates in Messe Frankfurt. “The choice to take part in TEXPROCESS aims to demonstrate the leadership position as a world ROQ in the markets of serigraphy, digital print, drying equipment and packaging lines”, clarifies Daniela Carvalho, marketing assistant. Among the news the company highlights the DTG solution which “enables printing a clothing item and have it ready to ship”, concludes. 

The company Costura, present in TEXPROCESS for the third time, expects “affluence above average as there is high demand in European production due to productivity restrictions in several Asian markets”, considers João Leirias.  The company will display gadgets to apply in several sewing machines and several accessories that make production easier. 

The participation of small and medium scale companies in TECHTEXTIL and TEXPROCESS is an initiative from Seletiva Moda and ATP – the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association , which aims to promote internationalization of Portuguese companies in the Fashion Areas. The project “From Portugal” is co-founded by Portugal 2020 in the scope of Compete 2020 -  Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalization and Lisboa 2020 – Lisbon’s Regional Operational Programme. There is an amount of eligible support of 6.648.794,78 €, 3.735.305,80€ of which come from the European Regional Development Fund.
