PORTUGUESE HOME TEXTILE COMPANIES IN FULL FORCE AT INTERGIFT

Dilina Têxteis, Irina & Sousa, Rio Sul and Têxteis Evaristo Sampaio are the Portuguese companies that make up the FROM PORTUGAL delegation, which together with the iTechStyle Green Circle home textiles showcase, will be present in yet another edition of the Spanish fair Intergift, taking place from September 15th to 19th at IFEMA, in Madrid.

Considered the most relevant decoration and home textile trade show in the Iberian Peninsula, Intergift once again welcomes a strong Portuguese delegation, represented by four companies that are already regulars of the event. That is the case of Rio Sul, which has assiduously participated in the fair since January 2008, counting with a total of 26th participations at Intergift.

“The majority of customers we contact at this fair are Spanish and Portuguese, but there’s also the possibility to reach directly with Italian, French and other Eastern European customers, giving us the possibility to broaden our range of clients. Despite some fluctuations over the years in terms of effective results, we consider our participation in Intergift to be positive, it has allowed us to grow in markets outside Portugal, especially in the Spanish market”, considers Joana Correia, from Rio Sul. Regarding novelties, Rio Sul will present in Madrid both the Christmas collection and the company’s Autumn/Winter articles, “always with new decorative pillows, bedspreads, duvets and blankets”.

Also a veteran of Intergift is Dilina Têxteis, who has participated in the fair for almost 25 years. “We think that the fair has had its highs and lows, but the truth is that every year we make good contacts that led to great deals. In fact, it was a client we made in 2019 at Intergift that allowed us to better manage the pandemic”, reveals António Manuel Pereira Dias, managing partner of the company, which specializes in tablecloths and sheets.

We have good expectations for this edition. Several customers who haven't been present at the fair for more than ten years told us that this year they will attend. We are very hopeful” adds the managing partner of Dilina Têxteis, who will bring to this edition of Intergift the company’s 500 to 600 threads sheet collections.

The iTechStyle Green Circle, a showcase that intends to show the innovations of Portuguese textiles in the field of sustainability, will demonstrate how Portugal is a pioneer in the circular economy processes. The innovation showcase put together by CITEVE and Selectiva Moda is dedicated to home textiles, using raw materials such as sheets, bedspreads, duvets and terry to create feminine lines, playing with shapes at the same time.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in Intergift is framed by the From Portugal project, an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The “From Portugal” project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of € 11,042,311.82, of which € 6,065,501.91 comes from the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund.
