PORTUGAL LAUNCHES ECO-AESTHETIC

After eco-ethics, it’s time for eco-aesthetic. The Portuguese company TeamStone has put together, in the same model, ecology and aesthetic and shows, in a world première, the ceremonial nightdress, which shows the potential of recycled yarn to create real pieces of art.

To recycle is one of the obligatory concepts for TeamStone, which in this edition of Salon International de la Lingerie exhibits its “ceremonial nightdress”, a model that allies ecology and aesthetic, made from polyester/cotton recycled yarns. Besides the collection presented at stand G13, Hall 3, the company, which is at this trade fair for the second time, shows again the model “smoking pajama”, a real success of 2010, in a special exhibition organized by SIL. This perseverance in ecology has led the company away, since the brand is already everywhere, with the «strongest markets in Germany, France, Belgium, Slovenia and Ciprus», reveals Dina Alemão, manager of TeamStone.

At SIL are also other Portuguese companies, such as Sotela (stand B31, Hall 3), with a collection of sexy lingerie and sleepwear, and Iora Lingerie (stand G10, Hall 3) that, for Fall/Winter 2011/2012, shows a collection full of details, that give to sleepwear a romantic delicacy.  «The collection is very beautiful, with new models and colours inspired in today trends, with tones like lilac, purple and aubargine», reveals Cristina Flores, sales manager of the brand. Iora Lingerie’s collections are more and more appreciated, in Portugal and abroad. Besides the presence in hundreds of multibrand stores all over the world, the Portuguese brand is also at department stores El Corte Inglés, in Portugal, and at El Palacio del Hierro, in Mexico.

At Interfilière, at stand B20, Hall 3, is Fernando Valente, the Portuguese company of knits for lingerie, sportswear and swimwear. At its portfolio, Fernando Valente has 3D knits for swimwear, “second skin” materials, knits with high resilience to friction, thermo-bonded knits, high contention satins and bi-elastic tricots.

The Portuguese know-how also is revealed by export numbers: between January and September 2010, Portuguese companies have exported 2.71 billion Euros, plus 4.7% than in 2009.

The participation of these Portuguese companies at Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfilière is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda (stand E39, Hall 3), with the support of EU funds (Qren), inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity that promotes the internationalization of the Portuguese companies and for 2011 has a 61 international actions program in 26 different markets, directed to yarn, fabrics and accessories, fashion, home textiles and decoration and technical textiles, with an investment of 7.43 million Euros.
