It is one of the most important home product’s fairs in the world and this year the Portuguese presence will be reinforced with the visit of Ana Teresa Lehmann. The fair, which takes place twice a year, receives thousands of international visitors and it’s a launching pad for the internationalization of Portuguese brands.

Amongst the hundreds of exhibitors attending the fair, this season’s edition, which starts Friday and ends Tuesday, will count with a large delegation of Portuguese companies. Under Selectiva Moda’s "From Portugal" project, nine Portuguese companies mark its presence: 3D Cork, Laboratório D'Estórias, Carapau Portuguese Products, Burel Mountain Originals, Devilla, Lasa, Textiles Iris, TM Collection and Sugo Cork Rugs.

"This fair has visitors from all over the world.  In Maison & Objet’s past editions we were able to established contacts with various markets, from French to Korean, Chinese or Japanese," explains Carmen Regueiras, B.Sousa Dias’s commercial agent. In this edition, the Portuguese home textiles company is preparing its entrance into the market’s new sectors: "We will present some new products. Our specialty is the towels and the summer blankets, but we will start to introduce bedding and table complements, produced with special yarns ".

Also in the home textile sector, Lasa will be presenting a new collection of felts and digital prints. "It's a very important fair for us because we sell a lot to France, but it’s also an opportunity to contact customers from other markets," explains Ana Maria Monteiro, the company’s representative.

However, the Portuguese entourage is not limited to the home textiles department. Exhibitors related to interior decoration – from furniture to house fragrances – will makr their presence at Maison & Objet. In the "Cook & Share" sector, Portugal will be represented by 3D Cork, a company that specializes in cork products design. Participating at the event for the second time, the company has high expectations for this edition: "We already have some meeting scheduled and we will have two products on display at the What's New space, at the entrance of the fair", reveals Sara Nunes, 3D Cork’ representative at Maison & Objet.

The thousands of clients, buyers, designers, journalists and international bloggers, will be joined by the Portuguese Secretary of State for Industry, Ana Teresa Lehmann, who promises to brighten up another Portuguese industry’s international delegation.
