"Paris is always a good idea” - the phrase that Audrey Hepburn immortalized seems to become the motto of the Portuguese textile industry, which in September will mark its presence at two international fairs in the French capital. From September 7 to September 9, Portuguese companies will lift the veil on upcoming fashion trends at "Who's next”, and at Première Vision, from the 19th to the 21st, they will demonstrate their productive capacity in the fabrics, raw materials and textile accessories departments.

In this first assault on Paris, Selectiva Moda's "From Portugal" entourage takes to the French capital a selection of ten companies: BLACKSPIDER BY CRISTINABARROS – CONCRETO – CRISTINABARROS - KALISSON|BAGORAZ|LE CABESTAN - LUIS BUCHINHO - MALOKA | PAUL BRIAL | MELLEM, all with the aim of showing the next season’s clothing collections. At Porte de Versailles, where the fair is going to take place, thousands of visitors are expected, including entrepreneurs, buyers, journalists, designers and bloggers.

"Paris is still the epicentre of fashion and it attracts a lot of international customers" explains Luís Buchinho, attending "Who's Next" for the 12th consecutive year. The Portuguese designer has no doubts: the presence in the Parisian fair is as an essential factor for his brand’s growth. This year, Buchinho is preparing to present a very wide collection of women's clothing, ranging from Cocktail Dresses to Trench-Coats.

Also very experienced in the "Who's Next" fair, Faroma will be represented through three different brands: "Maloka", "Paul Brian" and “Mellem”. The Barcelo’s company, which exports 80% of its products to the French market, already has a very busy agenda at the event and hopes to continue on this successful path. "We have scheduled meetings with agents and clients who wish to place their orders at the fair" says Felicidade Carvalho, the brand’s representative.

In the knitwear department, the Valérius group will present Concreto’s – the company’s fashion brand focused on women's clothing – new collection. Over the last few years, Concreto has been gaining great notoriety.

The Portuguese companies participation in Who’s Next is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of € 12,118,285.17, of which €6,695,352.55 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
