Paris is the next destination of the "From Portugal" entourage’s international route. In the French capital, Portuguese companies will show the best of the Portuguese production in lingerie, swimwear and nightwear.

From July 7 to July 9, Paris becomes the center of the lingerie, swimwear and nightwear industry. Unique by Mode City and Interfilière, two specialized events that happen simultaneous, will bring to Porte de Versailles thousands of buyers and entrepreneurs from all over the world.

Among the exhibitors, and under Selectiva Moda’s "From Portugal" project, four Portuguese companies – Iora Lingerie, Kitess, Lemar and MAAR – will be present at the event with high hopes of expanding their businesses to new markets.

Known for the use of noble materials in the production of robes, pijamas and nightgowns, Iora Lingerie will present a new collection, that now includes a line dedicated to a younger demographic. With a stand at Unique by Mode City, the company hopes to establish new contacts, especially from non-EU markets: "We expect to attract customers from countries like Mexico, Saudi Arabia or Kuwait", says Cristina Flores, Iora Lingerie’s General Director.

Attending the event for the first time and representing Portugal in the swimwear department, Kitess hopes to draw attention to its collection of bikinis and swimwear. "The main purpose is to attract new customers and start doing Business to Business", explains Inês Rodrigues Pereira, the company’s Brand Manager.

In the textile area, Lemar hopes to be able to surprise with a new line of sustainable fabrics. "We will present for the first time fabrics produced with the SEAQUAL and NEWLIFE polyester yarns that have their origins on recycling PET bottles collected from the oceans or from plastic wastes" says Manuela Araújo, the company’s CEO.

The Portuguese companies participation in Unique By Mode City and Interfilière is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of € 12,118,285.17, of which € 6,695,352.55 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
