During 4 days, Florence will be once again the mecca of the international men's fashion market and the Portuguese textile companies, that more and more each day are taking the lead of the international trends, could not miss the call. The Portuguese delegation at Pitti Uomo, formed by the brands Dielmar, Lado Incógnito and Common Cut, departs to Italy with the purpose of standing out in a universe of more than a thousand brands, in what is considered one of the main international men's fashion fairs.

On the eve of the event, Lado Incógnito spares no effort into making the trip a commercial success. With the purpose of solidifying its presence in Italy, the Portuguese brand delegation is also preparing a series of visits to the customers. "The Italian market is a strong market, in which we are already present, but we would like to explore it even more. Exactly for this reason, we did a study of all the stores where we would like to be present at and we will visit them 2 days before the fair", explains Leonor Jácome de Castro, the company’s marketing director. Jerseys, twills and swimwear will be the main products presented by Lado Incógnito, who hopes to stand out at the event.

Common Cut, the Portuguese representative in the footwear department, is preparing to launch a new collection of minimalist and urban style "Sneakers", made with waterproof and water repellant leathers and Vibram soles. Fernando Figueiredo, designer and co-owner of the brand, hopes to establish new contacts at Pitti Uomo and make a good impression "with the quality and timelessness of the Common Cut products".

Dielmar, which will be present at the fair's main pavilion, side by side with the major global brands, is preparing to surprise with a new collection, inspired by the irreverence of the "crazy 20s". "Jackets and waistcoats, three-button jackets and pants with pleats will be the key pieces, in a clear allusion to the 1920’s", said Ana Paula Rafael, CEO of the company. The brand also prepares to innovate by placing a bet on colored and patterned fabrics.

The participation of the Portuguese companies at Pitti Uomo is an initiative promoted by Selectiva Moda and ATP - Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal (Association of Textiles and Clothing of Portugal), which aims to promote the internationalisation of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The From Portugal 2017 project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation. The value of eligible support totals EUR 12,118,285.17, of which EUR 6,695,352.55 is provided by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
