PORTUGUESE PRODUCTION IN LITHUANIA

Integrated in an initiative of the Association Selectiva Moda, five Portuguese exhibitors will participate in the upcoming edition of Baltic Textile & Leather, an event dedicated to textile and clothing to be held in Vilnius, which is a focus of attraction for thousands of buyers in the Baltic region.

The 20th edition of Baltic Textile & Leather, a fabric and fashion show, will take place Oct. 13-15, in Vilnius.
This fair is one of the most important events in this sector in the Baltic region with a market of around 10 million people.  About 179 participants from 18 countries and more than 8000 professional buyers from 21 foreign countries are expected.
A portuguese delegation composed of five companies will be present, namely Leuna by Elisabeth Teixeira, Saymyname, Essência Atlântica, Lipaco and Boom Bap. This is an initiative of the Association Selectiva Moda, with the support of the NSRF (National Strategic Reference Frame). Leuna by Elisabeth Teixeira will bring to this exhibition its Fall/Winter 2012 collection, entitled "Le petit Ecolier." It’s a collection inspired by Paris in the '80s, in a varied palette of colors ranging from soft beige, salmon and seagreen. A collection made predominantly in jersey, for men and women, is the bet of Saymyname. It features an urban style, a mix of design and comfort.  Essência Atlântica will feature new trends in its collection of knitwear for men and women. Yarns, sewing threads and textured yarns for the textile and apparel industry in general, are the products that Lipaco will exhibit during these three days. Inspired by street culture, Boom Bap takes its Streetwear collection to Lithuania.
This is an edition marked by premieres. To all the participating companies this will be a debut and a new market, which the Portuguese companies seek to discover with great expectations, since it is a growing market with good business prospects . The event will also include the presence of a large group of Russian buyers, the result of trade links between Lithuania and the former Soviet Union.
The participation of these five Portuguese companies at Baltic Textile & Leather is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda, with the support of EU funds (Qren), inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity that promotes the internationalization of the Portuguese companies and for 2011 has a 61 international actions program in 26 different markets, directed to yarn, fabrics and accessories, fashion, home textiles and decoration and technical textiles, with an investment of 7.43 million Euros.
