Six Portuguese companies will participate in the next Pure London - BlackspiderCotton BrothersCristina BarrosKatty XiomaraMarita MorenoSMF – which represent the DNA of domestic fashion in London.

Back at Pure London, Cotton Brothers presents its SS 2016 collection, women's, casual and comfortable clothing, which is characterised by simple shapes, soft and fluid fabrics and structured and dense knitwear.

Making its debut at this event, the Portuguese Marita Moreno presents at the London show its collection, of which the Sculpture Line will be the highlight. Pieces created from Portuguese handmade linen, with leather accents, natural raw materials, such as leather, wool, linen, cotton, silk, cork, in an approach combining contemporary design with a strong component of Portuguese handicrafts. This is a brand bearing the seal “Portugal Sou Eu” (“I Am Portugal”), due to the use of almost 100% domestic materials. “Our participation in Pure London is a strategic decision, the British market has a lot of tradition in new concepts and trends, as well as being an excellent platform for presenting new creators, London is a bubbling cauldron, a cosmopolitan city with a mixture of different cultures and mentalities, which brings together pieces with new concepts, added value and premium quality, as is the case of the Marita Moreno bags and shoes collection. Receipt of an invitation to form part of the Premium Footwear sector was a source of great pride and confirmed the quality of the brand’s products, as only 15 international brands will be participating in this space”, explains Marita Ferro, manager of the company.

For SMF, participate in this event is hugely important, its first participation with Associação Selectiva Moda. “It is a market within the European Union where we’ve had customers since 2011 and where we’ve been a distributor since 2013”, explains João Ramos, sales director of the company. On display will be the women’s collection for autumn/winter 2015/2016, especially coats, knitwear, blouses, trousers, shoes and bags.

The participation of the six Portuguese companies in one more Pure London edition is an initiative promoted by the Selectiva Moda Association, co-financed by the EU Structural and Investment Funds as part of the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (POCI), Portugal 2020, and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project is made up of approximately 81 international activities which take place in the second half of 2015 and in 2016, covering the entire textile and fashion industry and spread over four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
