Twenty five Portuguese companies will be showcasing the main trends to “clothe” the home at the “The Portuguese Home Tex’Style” trend forum at Heimtextil, the world's leading home textiles trade fair, which takes place from 14th to 17th January in the German city of Frankfurt.

Colour, design as therapy, celebrating memory, the meeting of cultures and respect for diversity, collecting references and graphics, experimenting with patterns, submarine magic, fluidity, reflections of light, ecology, sustainability, are just a few of the themes represented at “The Portuguese Home Tex’Style” trend forum by the products of the 25 Portuguese companies attending the event.

In the universe of bed linen and decoration, embroidery, point lace, jacquards and quilts by the Portuguese company Borfil, attending “The Portuguese Home Tex’Style”, excel for their quality and design. «The highlight of this collection is the quality and design of our embroidery, the irreverence of our prints and sophistication of our jacquards », reveals Cristovão Pimenta, the company's designer.

It will also be possible to see some of the proposals by the company Sampedro, which will be at the trade fair showcasing a collection designed for both the most comfortable home and most sophisticated hotel, with a vast selection for bed, bath, table and hotel.

Quilts, cushions, blankets and towels, are the highlighted products showcased by Têxteis Giestal. «For 2015 we are presenting a collection made up of medium/high range products, 100% cotton, with excellent finishings. This collection has two main trends: one, more conservative with timeless colours (whites, beiges and greys) and the other, more modern and informal, with a younger colour palette», explains João Ferreira, commercial director for the company.

Bomdia, experts in the production of cotton towels for bath, kitchen, beach, baby and hotel, will be showcasing the main trends of their collection for 2015 in the German city, which is «inspired by the traditional and functional, magic, illusion and the revelation of nature, where paisley blends with squares, illusory design effects and floral movement», reveals Laura Carvalho, the company's product director. One of the most important highlights of this collection emerges from Portugal itself, combining its origins, traditions and discoveries with the glamour, sophistication, spirit, colour and performance of modern and current lines. «These elements, which are seemingly opposite, unite in an explosion of contrasts, enhancing quality, design and innovation, and thus our unmistakable Made in Portugal signature!», she adds.

For bath, there will also be the opportunity to see Mundotêxtil's novelties, where focus is on the luxurious and contemporary appearance of the products, associated with an extraordinary touch.

As the world's leading trade fair in the sector, Heimtextil operates as a trend barometer and benchmark for companies in the sector and is an important export “window” for Portuguese home textiles. The last edition of the trade fair welcomed 67,000 professional visitors from 133 countries, who had the opportunity to get to know the trends of around 2,700 exhibitors from 61 countries.

The theme for Heimtextil's 2015 edition is “Experience”, where everything revolves around our sensory experiences with the textile universe. This theme includes four design trends: Sensory, Mixology, Discovery and Memory - all of which have one thing in common: the desire to satisfy the desire for wellbeing and luxury and to comply with the principle that aesthetics and performance always go hand in hand.

"The Portuguese Home Tex’Style" trend forum is an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of European funds (NSRF), within the From Portugal project, and is part of a series of more than 87 international activities in 2014/2015, covering the entire textile and fashion sector, spread over four continents - Europe, Asia, Africa and America - with a total investment of 12 million euros.
