From the 12th to 15th November, the German city of Düsseldorf welcomes another edition of “Medica” the trade fair which will be attended by three Portuguese companies - Barcelcom – Custoitex – MyNanno - with the support of the Selectiva Moda Association under the From Portugal internationalisation project.

Portuguese innovation will be present at the upcoming edition of Medica, the trade fair in Düsseldorf, which takes place from the 12th to 15th november. Barcelcom, Custoitex and MyNanno are the three Portuguese companies travelling to the German city as part of an initiative by the Selectiva Moda Association with the support of EU funds (NSRF - COMPETE), under the From Portugal project.

Barcelcom, a regular at Medica Düsseldorf, responded affirmatively to the roll call and is back to attend the trade fair. Since the year 2000, the company has been aware of the importance of this trade fair and the increasing demand for graduated compression stockings. Since then, it has been developing technologies associated with compression for the areas of health, maternity and sports, and others. Among the brand's various products, the spotlight is on Pradex, which consists of the creation of a compression sleeve for the treatment of a condition resulting from breast cancer.

The Portuguese company Custoitex is making its debut at this trade fair, presenting the range of products of its COLLOVE brand. Graduated compression products and maternity products, among others, are highlighted in particular. “The area of health and wellbeing is growing, hence our focus on accompanying this trend, combining fashion with prevention and wellbeing products”, explains Mónica Morais, the company's brand manager. Expectations are positive as “given the size of this fair, we think it is important to approach this market” she adds.

The company Livefabrics is presenting itself to the world through the MyNanno brand, where the focus is very much on design and innovation, with particular attention to comfort.

Spanning around 116,000 m2 of exhibition space, Medica Düsseldorf, the world's leading event for the health and medical care sector, will be attended by approximately 4600 exhibitors. Around 130,000 professional visitors are expected, to keep abreast of technical and medical innovations and attend the various conferences and fora which are due to take place.

The participation of Portuguese companies in Medica, is an initiative promoted by the Selectiva Moda Association with the support of EU funds (NSRF - COMPETE), under the From Portugal project and is part of a series of more than 65 international activities planned for 2014, covering the entire textile and fashion industry, spread over four continents – Europe, Asia, Africa and America – with a total investment of 9 million euros.
