Six Portuguese companies are in Shanghai to present the new proposals for autumn-winter 2015/2016, with an offer marked by the European quality, the international trends and innovation, where are included shirting fabrics, velvets and flannels thermo bonded with gold and diamond films.

A Têxtil de Serzedelo/Texser, Gierlings Velpor, Lemar, Riopele, Somelos Tecidos e Troficolor are the honorable Portuguese representatives in this edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, with an exceptional offer, oriented by the best design and raw materials, which includes shirting fabrics and denim, without forgetting the major trend for next year’s winter: exquisite velvets, offered by Gierlings Velpor.

For the sixth time at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Troficolor exhibits a collection full of innovations, where one can find the company’s core business – denim – but also the traditional Portuguese flannels, with revolutionary finishes, such as thermo bonding with gold and diamond films, which give both a cosmopolitan look and new functionalities, like waterproofing. The new concept Glimmer Denim – bases in denim fabric and indigo knits with a shining functional coating – is also on the spotlight in these new proposals. «Strategically, Shanghai is a very interesting hub, since it allow us to invest in more comprehensive platforms of selection and production», considers Flávio Dias, the company’s export director. 

Ready to definitely conquer the Chinese market, A Têxtil de Serzedo/Texser shows in the Chinese economical capital several shirting fabrics proposals, in an offer designed for next year’s cold season that includes vaielas and flannels, in material like cotton, cotton/elastane, cotton/wool, linen and Tencel. «We are trying to open the Chinese market, which has a great potential», says Camilo Almeida, the administrator of the company founded in 1932.

With shirting fabrics of superior quality, Somelos Tecidos is also a mandatory stopping place for the thousands of visitors that attend this trade show. The fabrics’ producer company, which supplies major international brands, proposes an eclectic collection, where the timeless classics are combined with the most updated fashion trends. 

At Riopele, known by its brand Çeramica, the highlight is on double fabrics, with knit look and tri-dimensional, in an offer for autumn-winter 2015/2016 specially designed for the Chinese market. «It’s a market with a strong rise», acknowledge Ana Vaz, market manager at the company created in 1927.
 
Whereas Lemar, which is a season ahead, presents a preview of beach fabrics for summer 2016, as well as a selection of products with design and noble blends, also adjusted to the preferences of the Chinese market, which the company, specialized in fabrics with yarn-dyed stripes, knows very well from the multiple presences at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. «We are already receiving interesting orders from Chinese clients conquered at the trade fair», unveils the CEO, Manuela Araújo. 

The participation of these companies at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, which takes place October 20th-23rd, is an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of European funds (Qren), under the project From Portugal. In 2014, the project includes over 65 international actions, which cover the entire textile and fashion chain, divided by four continents – Europe, Asia, Africa and America – with a total investment of EUR 9 million.
