Portugal is the guest country in the upcoming edition of the Intergift Madrid trade fair, which apart from being an opportunity to bring both countries closer together and increase their commercial operations, also seeks to boost visits by Portuguese buyers.

The Feria de Madrid opens its doors for five days to welcome around 950 exhibitors, including seven Portuguese companies - Artegui - Castelbel - Dilina Têxteis - Renaitex - Rio Sul - Sun City Ibérica - Têxteis Íris - which are part of the From Portugal internationalisation project, an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda, with the support of European funding (NSRF).

The main "Made in Portugal" trends in the home textiles sector will be showcased, represented by a wide range of items, from the hotel/spa and restaurant line by Artegui, candles, diffusers, soaps and perfumed sachets by Castelbel, the bath, bedroom, dining and kitchen line by Dilina Têxteis, furnishings, bedroom and dining line by Renaitex, cushions, blankets and curtains by Rio Sul to Sun City Ibérica's licensed products for babies (0-36 months) and children (2-10 years), ready-made clothing, evening wear, underwear, accessories and bathware with a variety of items.

Castelbel returns to Intergift with the support of Associação Selectiva Moda for the first time, whose main objective is to capture new clients and consolidate the Castelbel and Portus Cale brands in Spain, which is a strategic market for the company. “Intergift is very important to us: it is a valuable means of contact with Spanish retailers, for both those who already have a business relationship with us and those who get to know us at the venue. As in previous editions, we hope to increase our client portfolio in this market which is increasingly important to us”, reveals Aquiles Barros, the company's Managing Director. In this edition, the spotlight will be on the Castelbel Amazónia collection, “A collection dedicated to Brazil and the world sporting events that the country will be hosting until 2016”, he adds. Between Brazilian warmth and Christmas spirit, Castelbel will be showcasing a genuine fusion of fragrances and colours.

Intergift Madrid, organised by Ifema, has two editions each year. In last September's edition, there were 42,896 professional visitors, 2,081 foreign visitors from 76 countries and 924 exhibitors.

The participation of Portuguese companies in Intergift is an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda, with the support of European funds (NSRF) within the From Portugal project, and is part of a series of more than 65 international activities planned for 2014, covering the entire textile and fashion sector, spread over four continents - Europe, Asia, Africa and America - with a total investment of 9 million euros.
