From 9 to 11 February, all eyes from the fashion industry will be on the London trade show Pure London. Considered to be the United Kingdom's leading fashion event, this trade show will showcase the main fashion trends of the around 1000 brands attending, where six made-in Portugal names are highlighted.

Blackspider – Cristina Barros – Katty Xiomara – Mischua – I.Lus.tra – Miau Frou Frou – are six national companies showcasing at Pure London, with the support of Associação Selectiva Moda, within the scope of the From Portugal internationalisation project. The design, innovation and quality that characterise made-in Portugal, are just a few of the ingredients that will certainly surprise trade show visitors.

For the second year running at Pure London, Blackspider is travelling to London with positive expectations. «The choice of the British market is due to it being a very demanding stage, in the fashion paradigm, which translates into a very interesting and enriching challenge for us», explains Joaquim Cunha, the company's Managing Director. A special highlight goes to the flowing fabrics, which are light and very colourful.

Designer fashion goes to London with Katty Xiomara, who is making her debut at this trade show with the launch of a special edition - Peanuts played by KattyXiomara – the new Winter 2014/15 collection. «Pure London was suggested to us as being the right trade show in which to present our collections and also because it is a market which is open to new proposals. We have high expectations, not just because it is our debut in London, but also to be able to gauge the reaction to the launch of this special edition», states José Silva, who manages the brand.

In turn, débutante Mischua is presenting a collection where the Motorcycle line is in the spotlight. Featuring comfortable and close-fitting pieces, adaptable to day-to-day challenges, in a combination of Sport black and glossy black. The favourite piece is the cape coat, which has different interpretations, from New Vintage, in beige and black, to Punkrock, in metallic shades and Newfarmer, with velvet textures in check and earthy browns. «We are currently focusing on the English market and therefore our attendance at this trade show is very important», underlines Catarina Leite, who manages the brand. «Our objectives are to reach potential clients, who have stringent requirements and demand quality», she adds.

The participation of Portuguese companies in Pure London is an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda, with the support of EU funds (NSRF), within the From Portugal project, which is part of a series of more than 65 international activities planned for 2014, covering the entire textile and fashion sector, spread over four continents - Europe, Asia, Africa and America - with a total investment of 9 million Euros.
