The purity and authenticity, the colours that paint history, the beauty of living organisms and the expression of individuality are some of the concepts expressed in the trends of the Portuguese forum The Portuguese Home Tex’Style, exemplified in the products of 28 home textiles’ companies, where quality, design and innovation get together in the conquest of world market.

Preferred in the whole world due to their capacity to surprise and please, both in design and raw materials and finishing, more than 70 Portuguese exhibitors reveal the new collections for bed, table, bath and interior decoration, in an eclectic showcase that promises to bring poetry to everyday life in a house or hotel.

The major trends that will define home textiles in 2014 are, therefore, at the trend forum The Portuguese Home Tex’Style (stand 11.0 C49), which points to four main directions in home fashion for the next 12 months – Daily Poetry, Dinamic, (Hi)Story, Alive and Cultural Nomadism –, illustrated through the products of 28 Portuguese companies.

The prints on the bed linen of Lameirinho, which is in this forum, reveal a colour explosion, including some “special effects”. In the company’s stand (11.0 B31), dedicated to music and with a graffiti specially made by writer Pariz One, «we also present a bed with a design that reminds a canvas painted with gouache, complemented with linen pillows with matching colours», explains Tânia Lima, marketing director of the company that also shows the first steps of a project in partnership with Amorim Cork Composites, whose motto is “going natural… in a Portuguese style”.

Also for bed, Piubele (stand 11.1 C50) proposes «more contemporary collections with the use of many textures and stone wash finishing», unveils commercial director Joana Liberal, while for bath linen, Mundotêxtil (stand 11.0 C11) offers terry towels’ collections of the brands Blank and Risart, «which reflect the most recent trends in colours and textures», states the administrator Rogério Matos.

A whole world for the home further complemented with quilts of Homania (stand 11.1 D66), rugs of Sorema (stand 11.1 B51), embroideries of Borfil (stand 11.1 B28) and numerous other quality proposals for all the areas of the house, preferred by the most renowned international brands and retailers. From January to October 2013, Portuguese exports of home textiles increased 9.5%, to over EUR 519 million, having as main destinations Spain, France, USA, United Kingdom and Germany.

The trend forum The Portuguese Home Tex’Style is, therefore, a mandatory stopover at Heimtextil for those who want to see and buy the most recent developments in home textiles. The initiative, promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of European funds (Qren), under the project From Portugal, is part of a program of over 65 international actions planned for 2014, that cover the entire textile and fashion chain, divided by four continents – Europe, Asia, Africa and America – with a total investment of EUR 9 million.
